Al-Jamaa’ah as-Salafiyyah is The Original Jamaa’ah


Question posed to The Noble Shaykh Saalih al-Fawzaan (may Allah preserve him):

Question: Some of the people have claimed that as-Salafiyyah is considered a group from among the active groups present today and its ruling is the ruling of the rest of the groups. What is your refutation for this claim?

Answer: We have mentioned that al-Jamaa’ah as-Salafiyyah is the original Jamaa’ah which is upon the truth, which is obligatory to connect oneself to, work with and ascribe oneself to. That which is other than it from the groups, it’s obligatory that they are not considered to be from the groups of Islamic Da’wah because they are in opposition (to the truth). And how can we follow a group that’s in opposition to the Jamaa’ah of Ahl as-Sunnah and the guidance of the Salaf as-Saalih?!

Therefore the statement, “Indeed al-Jamaa’ah as-Salafiyyah is one of the Islamic groups” is a mistake! Al-Jamaa’ah as-Salafiyyah is the only group which is obligatory to follow, traverse upon its methodology, connect oneself to and to strive (for the sake of Allah) along with. As for that which is other than it, it is not permissible for the Muslim to connect (himself/herself) to it because it is from the deviant sects. Is the person pleased that he is connected to the deviant sects while the Messenger (sallal laahu ‘alayhi wasallam) stated, “Upon you is my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the rightly guided Khulafaa who come after me.”?! The Messenger (sallal laahu ‘alayhi wasallam) was asked about the saved sect (who are they?). He said, “What I and my companions are upon.” Does the person want the salvation but traverses upon other than its path?

You hope for salvation but you don’t traverse upon its paths—
Indeed the boat doesn’t sail upon the dry land.

سؤال وجّه إلى معالي الشيخ العلامة صالح الفوزان حفظه الله

يزعم بعض الناس أن السلفية تعتبر جماعة من الجماعات العاملة على الساحة و حكمها حكم باقي الجماعات, فما هو تفنيدكم لهذا الزعم؟

الجواب: ذكرنا أن الجماعة السلفية هي الجماعة الأصلية التي على الحق و هي التي يجب الإنتماء إليها و العمل معها و الإنتساب إليها, و ما عداها من الجماعات يجب ألّا تعتبر من جماعات الدعوة لأنها مخالفة, و كيف نتّبع فرقة مخالفة لجماعة أهل السنة و هدي السلف الصالح؟

فالقول: إن الجماعة السلفية واحدة من الجماعات الإسلامية, هذا غلط! فالجماعة السلفية هي الجماعة الواحيدة التي يجب اتّباعها و السير على منهجها و الإنضمام إليها و الجهاد معها و ما عداها فإنه لا يجوز للمسلم الإنضمام إليه لأنه من الفرق الضالة. و هل يرضى الإنسان أن ينضمّ إلى الفرق الضالة؟! و الرسول صلى الله عليه و السلم يقول: “عليكم بسنتي و سنة الخلفاء الراشدين المهديين من بعدي.” وسئل الرسول صلى الله عليه و سلم عن الفرقة الناجية؟ فقال: “ما أنا عليه و أصحابي.” هل يريد الإنسان النجاة و يسلك غير طريقها؟

ترجو النجاة و لم تسلك مسالكها إن السفينة لا تجري على اليبس
