Your ‘Shaykh’ Or Your Prophet; Who Do You Love More?

Your ‘Shaykh’ or your Prophet; who do you love more?
Shaykh Abdur Rahman Al Mu’alami [1386H]

Take the test!

Shaykh Abdur Rahman Al Mu’alami—may Allah have mercy upon him—said when speaking about resisting the desires:

Suppose you heard someone insulted the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم and another man insulted Dawud عليه السلام and a third man insulted Umar or Ali رضي ألله عنهما and a fourth man insulted your Imaam, and another man insulted another Imaam; would your wrath and pursuit of punishing and condemning them be consistent with the Islamic Sharia?

Meaning your wrath for the man who insulted the first two (Prophet Muhammad and Prophet Dawud, peace be upon them) should be almost equal to each other and much more severe than your wrath for the others. Your wrath for the man who insulted Umar or Ali should be less than the first two but greater than the others. And your wrath for the man who insulted your Imaam and the other Imaam should be similar to each other and much less than your wrath for those who insulted those before them.

“Make things easy and do not make things difficult. Give glad tidings and do not repel people..”
