Are Our Deeds Presented To Our Dead Relatives
Compiled, Translated and Annotated
Abu Hibban & Abu Khuzaimah Ansaari

FIRST PROOF

“Your deeds are presented to your close and beloved dying relatives if your deeds are better/good they become happy, if they are not good they say “O Allaah do not give him death up until you give them guidance.” [Ahmad 3/165]

This narration is Daeef because in it is Sanad is Sufyaan and between him and Anas ibn Maalik there is a Majhool (unknown) narrator.

This is also in Mujmu’a Zawaid but Imaam Haithamee after mentioning the narration says:-

“Ahmad has transmitted this, and there is a man in the chain who has not been named.” [2/228,331,332]

After this Imaam Haithamee points to a narration concerning this Hadeeth from Abu Ayyoob, and he brings it in the previous chapter and says after it:-

“Tabaraanee brings the narration in [al-Kabeer 1/194/2] and [Awsth 1/72] and its Isnaad contains a Daeef (Weak) narrator, by the name of Muslimah ibn Alee.”

Concerning Muslimah ibn Alee, Imaam Bukhaari, Ibn Hibbaan and Abu Zar’ah Raazee said he is Munkar Al-Hadeeth.

Imaam Dhahabee says in Meezaan al-Ei’tidaal [1/6]

“Bukhaari says, anyone about whom I say Munkar al-Hadeeth then it is not Halaal (lawful) to narrate from him.”

Imaam Ya’aqoob ibn Sufyaan Fusawee said “Da’eef Al-Hadeeth”,

Imaam Juzjaanee, Imaam Azdee, Nasaa’ee, Daraqutnee and Imaam Barqaanee said“Matrook Al-Hadeeth”

Imaam Au’jurree mentions from Abu Dawood that he is untrustworthy and unsafe.

Imaam Haakim said Muslimah ibn Alee Narrates Munkar and Mawdoo (fabricated) Hadeeth from Imaams Awzaaee and Zubaidee. [Tahdheeb At-Tahdheeb 5/439-440/ 7758]

SECOND PROOF

Narrates Anas ibn Maalik That the Messenger of Allaah (Sallalahu Alayhee Was-Sallam) said, “Every Friday the deeds of my Umaah are presented to me, and the Wrath of Allaah is upon the fornicators severely” [Hilyatal- Auliya (6/79), Kunzul A’amaal 5/318]

This narration is very Weak (Daeef), two Narrators are Majrooh, Ahmad ibn Eesaa ibn Maahaan Ar-Raazee would narrate, fabricated narrations on the virtue of Alee ibn Abee Taalib and Odd (Ghareeb) narrations, the Muhadditheen have made Kalaam on him. [Meezaan al-Ei’tidaal (1/128) and Leesaan al-Meezaan (1/244]

Two more narrations from Anas are brought one about whom Imaam Adiyy mentioned in al-Kaamil [2/124] in its chain is Faraash ibn Abdullah who lost his reliability

And the second narration contains Muhammad ibn Abdul Maalik ibn Ziyaat Abu Salamah Ansaari who would narrate fabricated and forged narrations, Imaam Ibn Taahir called him a Kadhaab.
