Righteous Actions are from the Dhikr of Allaah

Allaah Ta’ala said:

إِنَّمَا يُؤۡمِنُ بِ‍َٔايَٰتِنَا ٱلَّذِينَ إِذَا ذُكِّرُواْ بِهَا خَرُّواْۤ سُجَّدٗاۤ وَسَبَّحُواْ بِحَمۡدِ رَبِّهِمۡ وَهُمۡ لَا يَسۡتَكۡبِرُونَ۩

<< Only those believe in Our Ayaat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), who, when they are reminded of them fall down prostrate, and glorify the Praises of their Lord, and they are not proud.>> [Sajdah: 15]


Allaah Subhanahu Ta’ala said in Soorah al-Jummah:

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ إِذَا نُودِيَ لِلصَّلَوٰةِ مِن يَوۡمِ ٱلۡجُمُعَةِ فَٱسۡعَوۡاْ
إِلَىٰ ذِكۡرِ ٱللَّهِ وَذَرُواْ ٱلۡبَيۡعَۚ ذَٰلِكُمۡ خَيۡرٞ لَّكُمۡ إِن كُنتُمۡ تَعۡلَمُونَ

<< O you who believe (Muslims)! When the call is proclaimed for the Salat (prayer) on the day of Friday (Jumu’ah prayer), come to the remembrance of Allaah [Jumu’ah religious talk (Khutbah) and Salat (prayer)] and leave off business (and every other thing), that is better for you if you did but know! >> [Jummah: 9]


Saeed bin Jubayr -Rahimullaah- said:

‘Every person who carries out obedience of Allaah then he is one who remembers Allaah.’

Shaykh ul-Islaam Ibn Taymeeyah -Rahimullaah: was asked about the best of actions after the obligatory duties, he answered:

‘In general the best thing that a slave of Allaah busies himself with, is adhering to continuously remember Allaah.’
