Question: ‘Manhaj’ of Salaf As-Saalih – what is meant by this term? What are the signs of the one who follows this ‘Manhaj.’ Is it a must to follow this Manhaj?

Answer: The meaning of ‘Manhaj’ of the Salaf As-Saalih (the pious predecessors) refers to following their way in belief, worship and interacting with others. It is therefore a comprehensive term.

It is possible for us to rule on every specific issue that it is in compliance with the way of the Salaf or in contradiction to the way of the Salaf. However the ‘Manhaj’ of the Salaf is their way in worship, dealing with others, manners etc..

The sign of the one who follows the ‘Manhaj of the Salaf’ is that he assumes their manners; he lives according to their actions in the matters relating to the religion as well as worldly matters.

Whoever wants to remain safe then let him follow their righteous way.

ما معنى منهج السلف

السؤال: ((منهج السلف الصالح)) ماذا تعني هذه الكلمة ؟ وما علامة متبع هذا المنهج؟ وهل لا بد من إتباع هذا المنهج ؟

الجواب: ((منهج السلف الصالح)) يعني اتباع طريقتهم في العقيدة وفي العبادة وفي المعاملات فهي عبارة واسعة. ويمكن أننحكم على كل مسألة بعينها أنها من المنهج السلف أو مخالفة لمنهج السلف ؛ لكن منهج السلف هو: طريقتهم في العبادة والمعاملة والسلوك وما أشبه ذلك.

ولامة متبع منهج السلف: أن يكون متخلقا بأخلاقهم، متأسيا بأفغالهم في أمور الدين والدنيا، ومن أراد السلامة فليتبع منهجهم الصالح.
