Is It Permissible To Say: I Am Salafi?
Answered by Shaykh Abdul Muhsin Al-Abbad Al-Badr
Question: What is your view O Shaykh concerning the saying of someone: ‘I’m Salafi or Athari?’
Shaykh Abdul Muhsin Al Abbad: The person must be diligent in being a follower of the Sunnah by way of actions. As for if it is said to you: ‘Are you Salafi?’ Yes, the person says: ‘I’m Salafi.’ Are you from Ahlus Sunnah? ‘Yes I am from Ahlus Sunnah, and all praises belong to Allah.’ As for mentioning this, or saying this, if there is a need for that, and it is applicable, then there is nothing wrong with this.

“Make things easy and do not make things difficult. Give glad tidings and do not repel people..”
