A Treatise of Allaamah Imaam Badee ud deen Shaah Raashidee Sindhee

(for the anti Ahlul Hadeeth and those who got a little rattled last time due to their blind love for any madhab on a particular forum, just to inform you this work of Allaamah Badee is not dissimilar or indifferent from the Work of Imaam Ibn Abee Shaybah, Imaam Ibn Qayyims A’laam al-Muwaqieen and Shaikh Muqbils an-Nashr as-Saheefah and many more life it. So the ardent Hanbalis who have an innate nature in defending the errors in the hanafi fiqh let them refer to al-A’laam)

ISSUE 11

The Rain Prayer Collectively or Individually


Prophetic Hadeeth

On the authority of Abdullaah ibn Zaid (raa) the Messenger of Allaah ((sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam)) went out with the people to the Musalla to pray the rain prayer and he did so 2 raka’hs with loud recitation and thereafter he faced the Qiblah and raised his hands and turned his cloak inside out.” (Bukhaari (1/139 no.980), Musnad Ahmad 6/39 no.16484), Sunan Daarqutnee (2/212 no.776), Tirmidhee no.556), Ibn Maajah (1/72), Saheeh Ibn Khuzaimah 2/333 no.1410), with slight variations in wording)

Hanafee Fiqh

“Abu Haneefah said it is no recommended to prayer the rain prayer collectively (ie in congregation) however praying it individually is permissible.” (Hidaayah Awalain 1/176)



ISSUE 12

Praying 2 Raka’hs During the Khutbah


Prophetic Hadeeth

Jabir b. ‘Abdullah said that the Prophet of Allaah (sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam) delivered the sermon and said: When any one of you comes for the Friday (prayer) and the Imaam is giving the sermon, (even then he) should pray two rak’ahs quickly.”(Muslim 1287 no.2024, there are many ahadeeth in Saheeh Muslim emphasising this meaning)

Hanafee Fiqh

“When the Imaam comes out (to lead) on Friday (ie the Friday Prayer) the people should stop all prayers and speech until he has finished his sermon.” (Hidaayah Awlain 1/171)



ISSUE 13

Praying One Witr Is Also Sunnah


Prophetic Hadeeth

The Prophet said, “Night prayer is offered as two Rakat followed by two Rakat and so on, and if you want to finish it, pray only one Raka’h which will be Witr for all the previous Raka’h.” (Bukhaari (1/135 no.990)

Hanafee Fiqh

“Witr is (only) 3 Raka’hs” (Hidaayah Awalain (1/144)



ISSUE 14

How Many Rukus In The Eclipse Prayer?


Prophetic Hadeeth

“The Prophet led us and performed four bowing in two Raka’h during the solar eclipse and the first Raka’h was longer.” (Bukhaari (1/145 no.1066), Muslim (1/ no.2089)

Hanafee Fiqh

“When there is an eclipse, the Imaam should lead the people in prayer in 2 raka’hs of optional prayer and there should be one ruku in the whole raka’h.” (Hidaayah Awalain (1/175)



ISSUE 15

How Much Zakah on Agricultural Produce


Prophetic Hadeeth.

On the authority of Abu Sa’eed al-Khudree who said the Messenger of Allaah (sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam) there is no zakah on grain or dates until it reaches 5 wasq.” (Sunan Nasaa’ee (1/344 no.2487)

Hanafee Fiqh

“Abu Haneefah said there is zakah on everything that grows on the land whether it a little or a lot, except grass.” (Hidaayah Awalain (1/201)



ISSUE 16

Resting After the First and Third Raka’h


Prophetic Hadeeth

On the authority of Maalik bin al-Huwairith al-Laithee (RadhiAllaahu Anhu), “I saw the Prophet praying and in the odd Rakat, he used to sit for a moment before getting up.” (Bukhaari (1/113 no.823)

Hanafee Fiqh

“and then (ie after the sitting) stand straight on his feet and he should not sit nor should he support himself with his hands on the ground.” (Hidaayah Awalain 1/110)



ISSUE 17

Is Repetition in The Adhaan Not Proven


Prophetic Hadeeth

The Messenger of Allaah (sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam) taught the companions the Adhaan of Tarjee’ah. (Abu Dawood (1/80 no.503), Nasaa’ee 1/103 no.623), Ibn Maajah (1/101 no.708)

Note: Tarjee’ah is to pronounce the first 2 repetitions of the Shahadatain in the Adhaan in a low voice and the remaining 2 repetitions in a louder tone.

Hanafee Fiqh

“Adhaan is Sunnah for the 5 prayers and jumu’ah and not others and there is no tarjee’ah in it.” (Hidaayah Awalain (1/87)



ISSUE 18

It is Permissible to Wipe Over the Imamah or Not?


Prophetic Hadeeth

On the authority of Mugheerah ibn Shu’bah (RadhiAllaahu Anhu) when the Prophet (sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam) did wudhu he wiped over his forehead, imamah and his socks.” (Muslim (1/134 no.626)

Hanafee Fiqh

“It is not permissible to wipe over the imamah.” (Hidaayah Awalain (1/61)



ISSUE 19

How Many Wipes for Tayammum


Prophetic Hadeeth

On the authority of A’mmar (RadhiAllaahu anhu) who said The Prophet (sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam) wiped the earth with his hands and then passed them over his face and the backs of his hands (while demonstrating Tayammum). (Bukhaari (1/48 no.338), Muslim (1/161 no.368)

Hanafee Fiqh

“And as for Tayammum then it is 2 strikes/wipes the first wipe is for the face and the second wipe is for the hands upto the wrists.” (Hidaayah Awalain (1/50)



ISSUE 20

Praying 2 Raka’hs Before the Maghrib Prayer.


Prophetic Hadeeth

The Prophet (sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam) said, “Pray (2 raka’hs) before the Maghrib (compulsory) prayer.” He (said it thrice) and in the third time, he said, “Whoever wants to offer it can do so.” He said so because he did not likethe people to take it as a tradition. (Bukhaari (1/157 no.1183), Muslim (1//278 no.838)

Hanafee Fiqh

“Do no pray (any) optional prayers after sunset before the obligatory prayer.”(Hidaayah Awalain (1/86)
The Prophet ﷺ said:

“Make things easy and do not make things difficult. Give glad tidings and do not repel people..”
