Pronouncing the Intention Verbally

Question: What is the ruling regarding pronouncing the intention verbally in Salaat and Wudoo?
Response: The ruling regarding this is that it is an innovation. Because it has not been reported from the Prophet (peace be upon him) or his companions, therefore it is an obligation to abstain from it. The place of the intention is the heart, generally there is no need to pronounce the intention verbally. And Allaah is the possessor of all success.
